Fred Couples pictured here at the 1992 Masters,
blasting out of a bunker on the 10th hole. He went
on to win the Masters that year.
Among his many achievements, Couples won the 1984
Tournament Players Championship while carding a then
course record 64 at the TPC Sawgrass. He repeated in
1992 with a new TPC course record at 63, and went on
to win the Arnold Palmer award as the leading money
winner on the PGA Tour the same year.
He is feared in match play and was a member of
the 1989, 1991, 1993, and 1995 U.S. Ryder Cup teams,
the 1994 and 1996 U.S. Presidents cup teams and
teamed with Davis Love III to win a record four
consecutive World Cup Golf Titles.
